Okay, I have gotten rid of most of the cavalry and replaced them with infantry/archers, I became a vassal just to see what would happen, I have a castle and a village but my wages are still quite high since I have a medium patrol and a decent sized garrison since I am attacked every once and a while/raided. I am able to sustain it only because I have ransomed some prisoners and was given 13K gold for Stannis (I have no idea how I got him, and the Mannis can never be contained).
