Although I also saw Horatio ships auto repairing themselves. Also repairs are so absurdly expensive there's really no point to even trying it when you're in a protracted war. Better to just constantly cycle ships from the front to repair/refit duty for five or ten turns. Better to just constantly cycle ships from the front to repair/refit duty for five or ten turns.I suppose this works but the hands on constant movement must be mind boggling, especially if you are in a war on multiple fronts. I admit I am still learning the game mechanics and I've only had it a little over a week, although I have logged 110 hours so far.The last game I was in was playing the Sophons in a large galaxy against 8 opponents. I managed to end up in war against all of them except my sole ally, the Vaulters. I mean there is a certain upper limit for certain things like keeping track of everything, which iirc is pretty much species wide as roughly 200 people is the average number of true social contacts you can cultivate and keep IRL beyond which it becomes mentally unmanageable.

I'd imagine some people like chess champions would have an easier go of 4x since a large amount of chess is being able to visualize things many moves ahead. For me a shortcut to higher levels of complexity and memory is just kind of leaving 'reminder notes' about what you are doing, like noticing why you have a random fleet orbiting somewhere or using infinite improvements as spacers for projects you need done in a sequence or whatever. But in terms of micromanaging multiple war fronts and fleets it's actually a LOT easier than having like three dozen systems and trying to keep mental note of excactly what's going down in each system in what general order. Since the fleets are overall a bit smaller and often fewer in number than average it's easier to keep track of them. You can also rename your fleets too you know.As for the war.how did you even manage that? Were you super weak? I find avoiding wars to be pretty easy so long as you a) have enough ships and systems to not be seen as an easy target and b) stay out of multiple member alliances with relarded trigger happy AI.

You can either fire kinetic barrages in all stages, or you can focus on ship repair so your ships will last until Melee, or you may try to disable enemy ship sensors, making them misfire. This is where graphics really shine, and Endless Space has some pretty ship models and animations, but surely there will be more to talk about in the. They have a really annoying habit of dragging you into wars you don't want, making truces you have no intention of keeping or wanting, colonizing way behind your lines (which is usually extra stupid because you get a massive diplomatic pressure bonus when your influence covers an opponent's system which in turn nerfs that system's influence etc production), and at times bringing in other AIs you might not actually want an alliance with. In other words, the AI can be as convincingly dickish as a real player. Originally posted by:As for the war.how did you even manage that? Were you super weak? I think I was at war with one, then he allied with someone else so now it was two. That escaltated as the 2 pulled in a 3rd. Then I allied with the 2nd largest empire which caused the remaining empires to align against me.The part of the diplomacy that seems a bit odd to me is: I am at war with A, B and C for example.I call for a truce with C and A and B automatically also agree to the truce, even though I never spoke to either of them. In the war I was referring to, I had so much diplomatic pressure on my oppoenents that the bar was 100% in my favor. At that point I could demand anything and theyu had to give it me or suffer sanctions. One empire I took all their dust.

I eventually won simply by using Obliterator missiles on their home worlds.
