Cant Right Click On Desktop
RECOMMENDED:If you have installed Windows 7 or Windows 8 on a computer powered by NVIDIA graphics card and have also installed all necessary graphics drivers, you probably have noticed the NVIDIA Control Panel entry in the desktop context menu (right-click menu). In some cases, NVIDIA Control Panel entry may not appear in the desktop context menu. The NVIDIA Control Panel lets you adjust and manage 3D settings, set PhysX configuration, change resolution, adjust desktop color settings, rotate display, set up digital audio, adjust desktop size and position, setup multiple displays, adjust video color settings and adjust video image settings. While the power users find the entry very useful as it lets you quickly access the Control Panel and change various settings, a large percentage of Windows users don’t touch these graphics settings. Besides, the NVIDIA Control Panel can also be accessed from Start screen or Start menu search and Windows Control Panel. So, it’s a good idea to remove the entry from the desktop context menu if you don’t use it very often. And if it’s missing you can easily add it to the desktop right-click menu with a few mouse clicks. And the best thing is that you don’t need to install third-party programs or manually edit the Windows Registry to add/remove the NVIDIA entry. The NVIDIA Control Panel itself comes with an option to add/remove the entry to the desktop context menu.
- Can't Right-Click Desktop I have Windows 7 Ultimate on Toshiba Satellite. I can't remember, but I did something, saw 'disable right-click' and afterwords, I couldn't right click the desktop. The icons are gone, and I can't drag a select box. The wallpaper still shows, and I can right-click everything else but that. Performance & Maintenance.
- On my Windows 7 computer, I was able to right click on icons on my taskbar to unpin them. I just upgraded to Windows 10, and I could have sworn the right click menu was working when I first installed it, but now when I right click on taskbar icons (or click and drag upward, which used to work on windows 7) no menu appears.
If you are having troubles with the context menu (right click menu), right clicking on the desktop doesnot do anything then most probably you have your group policies set to not displaying the context menu in windows explorer. You can change it in two ways. One from the group policy editor and one from the registry editor.1- From Group Policy EditorTo re-enable your context menu from the group policy editor, go to Run – gpedit.msc – User Configuration – Administrative Templates – Windows Components – Windows Explorer. In the right hand pane, find “Windows Explorer’s default context menu”, open its properties by double clicking it. If it’s enabled or not configured, disable it and your context menu will be back as soon as you apply this policy.2 – From Registry EditorTo re-enable your context menu from the registry, go to Run – regedit – HKEYCURRENTUSER – Software – Microsoft – Windows – CurrentVersion – Policies – Explorer. In the right hand pane find “NoViewContextMenu”, set its value to 0 if it exists. If you still can’t right click your desktop, then you can look for the same key here: HKEYLOCALMACHINE – Software – Microsoft – Windows – CurrentVersion – Policies – Explorer.

In recent days, few users are getting Right Click on Desktop Taking Too Long in Windows 10 issue. If your PC own any graphics card either nVIDIA or Intel, you will get a glimpse of them on the context menu after you administer a right click on the desktop. This is the kingpin of this problem.
