About This GameSpace Empires V is the latest edition in the Space Empires series. This new chapter completely updates the UI and takes the player into a real-time rendered 3D universe. Watch space battles played out in glorious detail and realistic effects. Expand, Explore, Exploit, and Exterminate in a huge living breathing galaxy. New features abound with political alliances between multiple empires, a top-down ship design system, a hexagonal movement grid, and many more. Click to expand.Unfortunately, I'm not really capable of anything like that, although I would like to change that, if I could.So far, I've changed ship sizes, added a few more, put in an Engine per move requirement, but increased the amount of engines you can mount, and I've been playing around with weapons and weapon mounts some. I'm currently working on increasing gun range. Lasers, which I added, are low damage, but can fire 13 spaces in combat. Can't do much damage at that range, but the only other thing that can hit that far out are missiles and the more massive Long Range Rail Cannons I added.So far it's working out fairly well, except that I have to tweak the AI to actually use engines effectively.

For Space Empires V on the PC, GameFAQs has 20 cheat codes and secrets.

A case would be a single 1400 kt Battlecruiser, with a combat movement of ten, smashing two 5000 kt Monitors and one 2500 kt Battlestation, all stationary, simply because the computer didn't put enough engines on their Monitors to give them even one movement point. Of course, the large number of Null-Space cannons on my Battleship also had something to do with shattering those ships and the base. The base had 14k in phase shields. Average head size for adults.
